Extreme Sales Page

I have updated my sales page for the Lead Capture System. Now it uses a letter on desk format to bring all the attention of the reader to the text of the sales letter.

Also, the copy is completely different and there are no images at present, apart from the Buy Button.

I have done this so I can start scientifically optimizing the sales page by multivariate testing.

Since my software to do the testing is brand new, I am starting by just optimizing the sales price. This is switching between a selection of price points for each new visitor.

This is a profitable product and I have sold it at a special launch price of $5 and a full price of $25. But now I want to experiment with optimizing the sales page and price for maximum profits.

Please let me know in the comments if you experience any bug viewing the page.

Forced Internship

A funny thing happened today, I got forcibly enrolled into an Intern program and got assigned a task.

It’s not as bad as it sounds, I received an email in my box describing my task (that I did not request to receive). However, it did allow me access to the procedure and instructional video. This was like having a free tour of the inside workings of a company.

What I discovered was how they recruit people to do tasks that help build their business. In this case it was a procedure for how to post an Ad on Craig’s list for admin assistance.

Basically, you do whatever the person that recruited you from Craig’s list did. So it is a viral method to gain Interns.

Interestingly, part of the procedure states that you must not ask questions since the procedure has worked for many people before.

This is a great way to build a workforce since you don’t have to do much once the procedure is in place. But before you can deploy this method of leveraging your business, you need a process that if followed step by step yields a profitable outcome.

Then it is a no-brainer decision to outsource this work at a pay level below your profit level.

Thinking of it another way, it is like programming a computer to run an algorithm, but instead of a computer, you program a biological machine (a person) to perform the task. Questions will be like bugs in your program where it got stuck, so you will need to de-bug (refine) your process to make it run smoothly without you having to intervene.

I look forward to trying this out once I have some profitable processes in place.

Blog Carnival 2

The pro-blogger Darren Rowse, did an awesome post this week on pages every Blogger should consider having

I actually printed out the page which is rare. Also, if you follow the links to his examples, they are top quality. Something to aspire to if you have the time that it must take to do this kind of quality work. It could be outsourced, I guess if you can find people capable of these high quality results for a low cost.

I came across an interesting post regarding pricing of products. This information could save you a lot of time and help you make much more money. Pricing Digits Don’t miss the download link for a fascinating report on the same topic at the start of the post.

Finally, Mr MultiVar made an interesting post about Optimizing Ads There were a couple of areas that he covered where it is not clear-cut as to the best approach to take.

Hey, it seems like I found a way to keep this blog ticking over :-) I hope you enjoy the posts that I am highlighting. I can’t promise to do this every week, but when I find some juicy posts, I will try and make a mental note to post them in the carnival.

All the best for the week ahead!

Your Chance

Check out my new blog: Website Optimization Techniques - follow my progress and copy what I do.

The way to make money online by optimizing Ads for maximum financial return on autopilot. Use software to fine tune your website while you sleep.

AdsCube is my brand name for products, I never intended to be a prolific blogger here but I think it is possible at my new blog. But it will be aimed at building a business rather than blogging for the sake of blogging like most bloggers seem to do. Also, I have a new twist in creating a persona like Ask Jeeves.

Maybe I can give you some ideas about strategies for blogging that don’t eat into your time so much as per the pro-blogging model? Basically, it’s about blogging on a “need to blog to help build my business” basis rather than “I have to blog to keep my readers” basis.

Certainly, I value your visit to my site and appreciate the time you took to read my material.

And, all the best with your online endeavours,

Andy

Testing Conversions

In any process on your site there are a few steps involved that can be tracked.

First off there is the source of visitor traffic and then they land on a page of your site. At the stage where you are now :-)

Then you are supposed to proceed to the sales conversion page which I hope you will do next (look to the right), but I understand if you bounce off the page. See you in big G Analytics.

Following you maxing out your credit card, you may well be inclined to go to a thank you page or simply receive an email in the morning to remind you what you blew money on the night before.

All these stages can be tracked and the methods used to get you from each stage to the next can be optimized.

This is what I am currently working on, ways to automatically (optimize your visitor experience) move you from step to step via software. But of course, I love my site visitors and so I still need to post content for you to read. Hence this post.

Please look out for my mega next product that will help you super-optimise your whole website and sales process.

There’s More to Tracking than Conversion

Blog Carnival - the Aftermath

Well, this was freakin’ amazing as they say in Utah, I only linked to 3 blogs and got one blogger linking back to me at the top of a post complete with angry comments from their loyal followers in their comments and a flood of curious visitors to check out how evil I am.

This kind of gorilla marketing is not for the faint hearted and gives you a clue as to how to become a “B” list blogger.

I don’t have an interest in becoming a pro blogger since I don’t want the pressure of writing daily, high-net-worth posts. I like the flexibility in being able to write short, irregular posts and not have to worry about pleasing a herd of my fans on a daily basis.

But it is a nice find in how to generate a burst of traffic.

I’ll use this technique to promote my next product. A post about how my house burnt down after using product X etc. may work nicely.

Blog Carnival

This is one of the daftest concepts I ever heard of and I have even seen a DVD tutorial that you have to pay for to find out how to participate in a Blog Carnival. Unfortunately, you cannot buy my procedure for this, you are either in the carnival or out! Sorry, that’s life.

So here it is, the Blog Carnival, start skipping around your room and click on these links, one at a time after each traverse of your room:

1. What To Do When You Hate Your Job - Itty Biz (skin head young woman who got pregnant and opted out of the career life in the office). Hopefully the baby was not part of the marketing plan and got conceived outside of the office. That’s uncalled for and rude! I take it back, sorry.

2. Former freak’in drug addict, preacher and employee basher James Brausch has gone a bit loopy this week and is offering most of this years “products” at $100 a month. If you don’t make use of the products, they are still useful as frizbees or mug mats since they come in DVD/CD format.

3. YASA (Yet Another Super Affiliate) by the name of Jon - if you are feeling useless at making money online or proud of your first $20 check, you can get some ideas for making lots of cash at his blog.

So, I hope you enjoyed my first ever Blog carnival. Seriously, these are some great sites to check out ahead of the Monday morning commute.

Product Developer or Affiliate Marketer?

After watching my affiliate income slowly wither away over the last couple of years, I decided in the new year to become a product developer. This decision came about after reading Scott Boulsch’s report on the Death of Adsense and reading James Brausch’s blog for about 10 months. Interestingly, both people have equally difficult names to spell.

The idea is that you raise yourself to the top of the Internet food chain. The worst place to be is a bottom-feeder shaking your empty “buy me a beer” can at passing web visitors. In the middle are affiliates taking a cut of the product producers profits.

So in January, rather than joining a gym, I started developing my own product to a plan. Hence the “Lead Capture System” was born after just 2 weeks. I even sold some units of this after promoting it on the Warrior Forum and made a profit.

Then I made a WordPress Directory product. No sales of that.

But these products were very basic, so next I caught onto the Local Business Directory Portal craze and decided to develop a portal script. Man, that was hard. One month of grind and I have my basic script working and live on the web. But I learned how to make it better along the way so I am not selling it as a product until it is re-jigged.

Also, I have vastly improved a classified Ads script I wrote before. This is good enough to sell but I want to Ad some PayPal functionality to it to make it very attractive to buyers so that they can make money with it.

I have quite a lot of ideas for cool scripts up my sleeve but it is taking a lot of time and effort to code them and now it’s March already. But the idea of authoring a bunch of great products is a powerful motivating force.

Brausch’s teaching is to record DVD’s of what you are knowledgeable about and sell those via a blog. A good example of such a product that I found was how to play Rock Guitar and play famous riffs. That kind of product is 100x better than a DVD explaining how to comment on Blogs I think.

On the Affiliate marketing side, my interest has been renewed by the appearance of Super Affiliates that are earning staggering sums by leveraging what works. Once they have created a web page (part of a mini-site) that has good conversion to sales. They know how much they can spend on driving traffic to the page and still turn a profit, so they will bid on large numbers of related keywords to drive traffic to the page.

This has given me yet another idea for a product. A mini-site creator that removes most of the effort of creating affiliate sites i.e. you select a template and get pushed to pump out some content pages within a couple of hours and have a reasonable looking site ready to upload to the web in no time at all. Well, you can do this with WordPress, so maybe it’s not such a great idea?

Anyway, go forth and multiply your income …
